Ballooning crazy and craving chips
Many of you have sent me messages directing me to the antics of Jonathan Trappe, a crazy American fellow who has crossed the channel carried by numerous helium fuelled balloons. See footage of him drifting around below:
Now whilst I am all for trying new and potentially life threatening things (see here and here), this strikes me as something a little beyond the pale. The man was a professional pilot for starters, already giving him a substantial advantage over a fool like me. Then there is the very nature of his method of transport – balloons. Little pieces of rubber inflated with gas that, on the ground at least, can be punctured with a pin. Up in the air, where all manner of scary beasts reside, surely its just a matter of some slow-mo birdstrike or a stray parachutist to take this plucky balloonist out?
Then you have fools like this that just make the whole idea seem………………..AWESOME
So no. Thanks for all your suggestions but on this occasion I shan’t be tieing 150 balloons to my dining room chair and attemping to make it across the pond.
In other news, I am sick of milkshakes and craving steak. And beer. And chips. And anything deep fried. How on earth does anyone diet? Its the most boring, hardcore thing. Slim Fast, bless them, have tried their best to make their shakes and snacks delicious and occasionally they actually are but confronted by so much deliciousness in the world, it is heartbreaking to turn down free cake at work.
Also I gave away 24 Krispey Kreme doughnuts the other day which I won without eating a single one. I felt like I was giving up a kidney.
